The Joy of Music Program offers private instruction in:
piano
harp voice
violin viola
cello double bass
flute recorder
oboe clarinet
saxophone trumpet
trombone guitar
percussion
Each child’s interest and readiness should be carefully considered before
taking the important step of choosing an instrument and beginning private
lessons. We strongly recommend that at least one year of music and movement
followed by one or two years of recorder classes or private lessons be taken
first. The one-on-one teacher/student relationship in private lessons allows JOMP teachers to adapt to each student’s individual learning style and to
help students build their skills by developing good practice and playing
habits from the start. Our goal is to help students experience the
satisfaction and growth that comes with instrumental study and to help them
discover the joy of learning new and more challenging music.
New students may enroll at any time during the year on a
space-available basis. Their tuition will be prorated.
See Tuition & Policies for details on
tuition and payment options, as well as withdrawals,
absences, etc.
