Come enjoy the fun and community spirit of a drumming circle. No previous experience is necessary. The group will explore a variety of rhythms in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Bring your own hand drum (conga, djembe, tubanos, etc. - no snares or marching drums) or use one of the school’s drums. Please call if you will be using one of JOMP’s drums, so we will be sure to have enough.

A special opportunity to spend uninterrupted time together, to share and grow creatively and to strengthen your relationship. As partners you will dance, create rhythms, write poetry, problem solve, play theatre games, talk and laugh. Patti is a creative arts therapist with a specialization in dance/movement therapy. Much of her work focuses on family enrichment.

Zentangle® is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. It enhances focus, creativity, relaxation and well-being. This engaging way of exploring shapes and lines visually is very related to exploring shapes and lines in movement and sound. It is fun for musicians and non-musicians! Create a unique piece of art, and learn how to continue to zentangle® long after the class is over. No art experience is necessary!

** SUMMER SONGWRITING WORKSHOP for Teens and Adults
Instructor: Nan Gibbons
Meets Weekly on Tuesdays 7:00 - 8:00
Tuition $140
Students will study and practice the creative process and technique of lyric and music writing in an atmosphere of supportive camaraderie. In the first class, Nan will help each student discover and design an individualized songwriting assignment. Each week students will share the development of their songs with each other and receive individual feedback and guidance from Nan. For the past six years Nan has taught songwriting to students and teachers in the Worcester Public Schools through the Metropolitan Opera Guild.
