Contemporary Styles for Strings

Learn to play folk, punk, and rock!

Join us for a three-day course surveying contemporary styles for string players. Students will meet for 90 minutes and will experience three different genres where they will get a taste of learning to play by ear, simple improvisation, and rhythmic accompaniment. Each day will end in a short informal performance for family and friends. This class is open to students of all levels who have at least started learning to shift and are able to play moderately fast (approximately late Suzuki book 2 and up).
