Jane Shivick

Voice

Soprano Jane Shivick, an accomplished singer, is equally at home in opera, oratorio, concert, and recital. As a soloist, she has performed with several orchestras and choruses throughout the New England area including the Boston Pops Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Keith Lockhart, the New Philharmonia Orchestra, Boston Civic Symphony, Symphony Pro Musica, New World Chorale, the Rhode Island Civic Chorale & Orchestra, and the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra.

As a National Winner in the renowned Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Ms. Shivick was awarded a debut performance and NPR broadcast at the Metropolitan Opera in NYC with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra under the baton of Sir Charles MacKerras.  She has furthered her vocal studies at the Aspen Music Festival as a member of the Aspen Opera Theater Center and toured with Sherrill Milnes and Friends as a member of the V.O.I.C.Experience Program in Orlando, FL which brought the first-ever opera outreach program to Walt Disney World (Epcot).

Ms. Shivick has been teaching privately and conducting masterclasses for many years. She previously taught voice as an adjunct faculty member at Clark University and for several years was the Director of Chapel Choirs/Principal Cantor in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Assumption College. Ms. Shivick’s students continue to be accepted to some of the most prestigious vocal performance and musical theatre programs in the U.S. and Canada. Her students perform with regional opera companies, theatre festivals, professional choruses, popular summer voice programs, as well as with college & youth theatre production companies.

Ms. Shivick is a graduate of Assumption College and has furthered her studies at The Hartt School at The University of Hartford. She is a prize winner of the New England Regional Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition, and the Rhode Island Bel Canto Vocal Scholarship Competition. Her mentors include sopranos Jane Eaglen, Maria Spacagna, and Ruth Falcon.
