Jennifer Griffin Gaul holds a Master of Music in piano pedagogy and performance from the University of Texas at Austin. She studied piano under Professor Danielle Martin. Jennifer was the pedagogy student of Dr. Amanda Vick Lethco best known for co-creating the world-renowned piano method series, Alfred’s Basic Piano Library, with Dr. Willard Palmer and Morton Manus.
Jennifer is a passionate musician and educator who loves all genres of music. She is devoted to passing that love on to students of all ages. Although a classically trained musician she has a special interest in jazz. Her late husband Scott Sherwood was a professional jazz guitarist and composer. As a tribute to her husband Scott who died of lymphoma in 2009, Jennifer has commissioned solo piano versions of Scott’s music. Her goal is to release a piano recording of his music at a later date.
Jenny was appointed Executive Director of Joy of Music starting in July of 2022 and is enthusiastically sharing her passion for teaching piano and Music and Movement as well.
