Meet the Instruments
A creative, immersive class designed to introduce the instrument families through interactive music activities, instrument demonstrations and listening. The 15-week course guides Jompers through 3-week explorations of each family (percussion, keyboard, strings, woodwinds, and brass). Students will learn basics of instruments (provided by JOMP) as well as receive live demonstrations from JOMP faculty. In addition, fundamentals of music including music and rhythmic notation, dynamics, timbre, elements of ensemble and more are explored. At the end of the 15-week period, recommendation for group or individual lessons will be made based on student interest. For ages 6-8 years.
